Good evening, Dancers and Families,
Congratulations to all our competitors for the 2008 Feis in the Desert! We hope you enjoyed our Feis as much as we enjoyed hosting the event for you. Our "Valley of the Sun" weather stayed beautiful - hopefully you were able to venture out of the hotel - maybe to the Multi-Cultural Festival or to visit our Downtown Chandler merchants and restaurants. We are grateful for the support - monetary and in-kind - of our sponsors and donors, listed in our Feis Program. We value our partnership with them, and their underwriting helps make our event a successful one!
All results from our Solos, Figures, and Preliminary/Open Championships, and the Music Competition event have been uploaded to our website. Go to "Results," and choose "Current Year." You may select the individual event, or select "By School" - our clever webmaster lets you click on your school name, which takes you directly to an alphabetical listing (by first name) of your school's competitors and their placings!
Additional items on the website are results for the "Specials" dance competitions, the Raffle Winners, the Damhsa Silent Auction Winners, Duct Tape Competition, and Lost & Found. The PSA Charities Silent Auction netted the Feis $900 - congratulations to the lucky winners!
Also posted are the results of our two C.E.R.F. (Chandler Emergency Relief Foundation) competitions. Between the Saturday and Sunday competitions and passing the fireman's hat, we were able to issue the Chandler Firefighters a check in the amount of $500! Thank you for your generosity!
Candid photos of dancers throughout the days and posed Awards photos, with some Friday evening Vocal competition photos are now fully loaded and available for view and purchase on http://oriellysdaughter.smugmug.com. Many thanks to Sara Plevel for creating this visual history of our Feis, and a photo gallery for our competitors. A slideshow of the highlights will be on our website shortly.
On behalf of the 2008 Feis Committee, The Bracken School of Irish Dance, and Damhsa Irish Dance Company, we thank you for joining us this year. We look forward to seeing you next year - mark the dates: January 16, 17, 18, 2009 - again on the Martin Luther King 3-day holiday weekend. We will be contacting you in August with more information.
